Current Projects:

Field Trip Binders and Training Workshop

The EECC is committed to designing and producing a bi-lingual “Field Trip Binder” to be used by educators and organizations in the California-Baja California border region. These binders will contain information to guide and facilitate the organization of field trips to different regionally significant sites. Educators and environmental organizations from the border region will be invited to a training seminar at which the preliminary binder will be introduced and distributed, and participants will be trained on the use of the binder, ensuring that both the educators and students receive the full benefits of the binders.

Project Objectives:

  • Teach youth to value the diverse environment of our border region by introducing them to environmentally significant areas through guided and well-organized field trips,
  • Enhance environmental awareness by educating youth on the environmental threats to these areas,
  • Spur commitment by youth to solving environmental issues through follow-up activities.
