Conference Reaches Out to Spanish Speakers
_________________ The North American Association for Environmental Education is hosting its annual conference this year in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 25 to 29. Having the conference in New Mexico presents a geographic opportunity to reach out and meet face to face with fellow EE professionals across the border, and lay the groundwork for a close, long-term working relationship. NAAEE's International Commission and Diversity Committee are showcasing over 20 speakers from or working in Mexico and other countries in Latin America this year. Highlights include a welcome session for Spanish speakers on October 26, and a keynote address by Tiahoga Ruge, head of Mexico's Center of Education and Training for Sustainable Development (Cecadesu), on October 27. Over 300 sessions are scheduled this year, making it an exceptional professional development opportunity for those attending. The full conference schedule is available at http://naaee.org/pages/conferences/index.html Conference participants who understand primarily Spanish should check in at the registration table for assistance from a volunteer. To serve as a volunteer interpreter for Spanish speakers, please email jmarcos-iga@eeexchange.org |
